It is a must-have in your skincare to replenish your skin, boost anti-ageing benefits, and even out the skin tone. An investment in this transcendental experience for your skin will ensure it is fresh, supple and glistening through all ages and stages.
Coenzyme Q10 (COQ10) is a compound that’s naturally present in our skin, one that energizes skin cells, which results in antioxidant effects, protecting our skin from oxidative damage. As we age, Q10 levels drop. This leads to visible signs of ageing, like wrinkles and decreased elasticity.
COQ10 is full of antioxidant properties that protect the skin from environmental stressors, energize the skin, and help your skin retain moisture. In addition to its ability to help even out skin tone, it helps reduce dullness and tightens up the skin.
CoQ10 works similarly to another powerhouse ingredient: Vitamin C. The most common antioxidant applied for its anti-ageing effects is Vitamin C, but CoQ10 has also been shown to use the same pathway to neutralize free radicals.
Winning Combinations With Coenzyme Q10
HOW TO USE
1. Shake well before use.
2. Apply 2-3 drops on face and neck AM and PM daily for plumped and healthy skin
All Skin Types*
*While a topical application of Coenzyme Q10 is generally suitable for all skin types, a patch test is always important. You also might want to take caution if you have certain skin conditions like vitiligo, approach CoQ10 products with caution. CoQ10 has been shown to block an enzyme known as tyrosinase, which is necessary for creating pigment. Blocking may lead to worsening depigmentation in those who suffer from vitiligo.
HOW TO PATCH TEST
Step 1 – On a clean area on your inner elbow, apply a small quantity of the product. Do not let the area get in contact with any other product or water.
Step 2 – Leave the product on for 30 minutes or up to 24 hours if you have extremely sensitive skin or are prone to reactions.
Step 3 – If you feel any kind of irritation, redness, itching, or burning, discontinue use.
Saffron Threads – Saffron or Kesar is highly rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. These qualities make it the ultimate go-to ingredient that can fight acne-causing germs and can calm down your active zits and get rid of the redness and soreness on them. Not just acne, saffron is known to work wonders for blemished skin too. Saffron is rich in minerals and contains two types of powerful carotenoids: crocin and crocetin. These carotenoids are effective in damage repair and ensuring overall cellular health, so they’ll help skin recover from daily environmental, oxidative, sun damage, healing everything from photodamage to loss of suppleness.
Lupin Seed Extract – Lupin Seed Extract is a high-performance ingredient known for its anti-ageing, remodelling, and firming properties. It restores the elastic properties of the skin and specifically targets skin areas that have become saggy and lost their tone and lustre.
Coenzyme Q10 – One of the key benefits of COQ10 is the energy that Q10 is providing skin, it can repair and regenerate at a faster rate to stay looking young and energised. It also helps to defend skin from adverse effects of sun exposure that are caused by free radicals (unstable atoms that can damage skin cells). Reducing sun damage also helps to prevent sun-induced signs of ageing. Coenzyme Q10 can also help to prevent hyperpigmentation and dark spots that are caused by an excess production of melanin. CoQ10 does this by helping to stop the production of tyrosinase which is the catalyst for melanin production.
